About Salvaged Sanctuary

Who?

Asia Babbington (she/her)

I’m a passionate, curious, color-loving designer and creative individual with a true love for travel, plants, and thrifting.

Finding beauty in the mundane is one of my favorite puzzles in this life. Our homes are where much of the “mundane” takes place.

With 10 years of creating and design experience in various forms, helping to create spaces that fully function and reflect my clients is where I have found my purpose.

Attaining an Illinois Real Estate License and personally being featured and seen on an HGTV episode, Apartment Therapy, and on Network NextGen - all while single handily running Salvaged Sanctuary.

What? Where? When? Why?

Design Studio // Chicago, Il // January 4, 2019

A small, independent, woman-owned interior design studio specializing in full-service remodeling, space curation, furniture sourcing, murals, your plant needs and other creative projects. Based in Chicago, open to travel.

Salvaged Sanctuary was born with the intention of making interior design and customized furniture pieces more approachable, more green and to truly help others achieve the full potential of their spaces.

Our homes, much like our closets, should reflect how we want to feel. Both are a direct reflection of ones personality and that reflection effects how we see ourselves and how we want others to experience us. Are the colors right? Do these textures make me feel good? Am I comfortable in the shirt (or space) to really feel my best and get the best of what I need from it!

See how all the questions we ask ourselves when it comes to clothes can also translate to space? Our space provides us the ability to create a persona that can be sacred to us or shared with whomever we want, a lifestyle.

When we start our day, we want to be well rested, get to our routine, get dressed and ready for the day - feeling good. We want to be well nourished - our space should facilitate in all of these daily tasks and make us feel good while doing them, just like your clothes go with the occasion!

Another similarity our closets have with our space - is how wasteful we (humans) can be in both of these areas. Recycling materials or upcycling old pieces can reduce and improve our green footprint, while simultaneously create uniquely functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces (and pieces)!

That’s where I come in - let me share my eye, love for design and resourceful skillset with you to get your home to where you need it, that you feel best in it!

I only state the date because it was the birthday of my late paternal grandmother, Ann.

Granny Ann encouraged exploration of curiosities, creativity, travel and nature. She touched the lives of many and was always a woman of service to her community.

I adored her and have been inspired by her footprint, while she was here, Earth side.

How?

Let’s Craft Your Sanctuary!

Plant the seed // Check out the services page, there’s a service for all!

Provide Light // Once you have decided which service best fits your needs, schedule a time that works for the consult or to get started.

Begin Watering // Depending on which service you have selected, we are either doing the dirty work (style + stage) or we are beginning to plan for your remodel. If the latter is where you landed - we have had a consult, you will be provided with a questionaire and the design phase will begin.

Growth Begins // Once we have smoothed out the design and all has been approved, we lock in the labor needed, the work and orders begin.

Final Form (with room for growth) // All specified pieces and product are in place; the final details are wrapped up and we finish up the project with a photo shoot (will schedule a time that works)! You are then able to enjoy your space the way you would like!
